In accordance with the Act of June 13, 2013, on Packaging and Packaging Waste Management, any establishment offering takeaway or delivery meals is required to submit an annual report on the packaging placed on the market and register in the BDO database. Additionally, familiarize yourself with the Commercial Informationregarding the services available in the Integrator System, as well as the rules for selecting the services displayed therein. The Commercial Information includes the Special Terms for the service "Food service in BDO." In the event of an expansion of the services available in the Integrator System, the Commercial Information will include details about each service and the rules for selecting the displayed services. This service information does not constitute an offer within the meaning of the provisions of the Civil Code, particularly Articles 66 and 66(1) of the Civil Code.

Does a restaurant have to submit a BDO report?

Yes, every restaurant offering takeaway products must submit a BDO report. This involves registering waste according to the BDO registration requirements set by national regulations. The report is a legal obligation that allows regulatory authorities to monitor waste management in the food service sector.

Does a food truck need to be registered in BDO?

What is SUP?

SUP stands for "Single-Use Plastics." These are plastic products used in the food service sector for packaging takeaway items. Their placing on the market is regulated by EU directives and Polish law. Consequently, every food service entrepreneur who sells or places plastic products on the market must comply with requirements such as registering in the BDO system, charging fees for plastic products, submitting reports, maintaining records, and more.

Are fees mandatory for plastic bags?

The obligation to charge a recycling fee for plastic shopping bags is outlined in Article 40a of the Act of June 13, 2013, on Packaging and Packaging Waste Management. Every business operating in retail or wholesale trade that provides its products in such bags is required to collect a recycling fee of PLN 0.20 plus VAT.

Which types of plastic bags are subject to fees and record-keeping?

The record-keeping of the number of purchased and distributed plastic shopping bags, along with the requirement to collect fees, applies to:
light bags with a material thickness of less than 15 micrometers,
light bags with a material thickness of less than 50 micrometers,
other bags with a thickness of more than 50 micrometers.
